La Guacamaya

Bringing a bright spot of color to downtown Clinton, La Guacamaya Mexican Restaurant opened its doors in January of 2022. 

Serving up a variety of delicious, authentic Mexican dishes, their specialty dish is Molcajete Guacamaya. Molcajete, the Spanish word for mortar and pestle, comes from the Aztec words for seasoning and bowl. This ancient cooking tool gives a dish its best flavor by making it the traditional way. La Guacamaya is also well known for hand-crafted margaritas. 

Translating to "the macaw" in Spanish, the owners, Isaac and Amanda, named the restaurant La Guacamaya after the macaw bird they encountered shortly after losing a baby.
